Stunning Start to Stone Age topic
Year 3 had an exciting and immersive experience stepping back in time to the Stone Age! The children explored a recreated Stone Age cave, where they created their own cave paintings using charcoal, just like early humans did.
They became mini archaeologists, digging carefully for artefacts buried in the sand, and got hands-on with real-life replicas of arrowheads and hunter-gatherer tools. The class also enjoyed reading fascinating facts about Stonehenge and learning more about the daily life of a Stone Age hunter-gatherer. We also had special visitors who had “time-travelled” from the Stone Age come in to share stories and tools from their era. We had the most unforgettable day.

Year 3 Geography Stunning Start
Year 3 have been on a whirlwind adventure. The children explored all seven continents, learning fascinating facts about each one — from famous landmarks and unique wildlife to climate and culture. To bring their learning to life, they sampled traditional foods from different countries, adding a delicious and memorable twist to their discoveries. The class also embraced the rhythms and energy of South America through dance, and had great fun learning to play traditional African drums. It was a lively and engaging way to connect with the world beyond the classroom.
